The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman

The Five Love Languages is a great book for couples to read.  It helps you understand the thinking of your partner, once you learn which of the five love languages is theirs.  I found this very interesting and it gives you a good insight into how your partner might be thinking.  Even if you can't get your partner to read this book it can help you improve your relationship.  Gary Chapman takes a very simple approach that anyone can follow to learn your love language.  This book won't solve all your problems but it will get you looking at things differently and from your partners point of view.  This can be a very important part of transforming your relationship, if you need that.

Spiritual Laughter

Laughter Yoga is becoming increasingly popular. It is fun and makes you feel wonderful. Think about a time when you laughed so hard your stomach hurt or a time you just couldn't stop laughing. Maybe you have just been sitting somewhere and all of a sudden you start to smile as you remember something funny and then burst out laughing.

Has anything ever happened where you can't help but laugh? Where does that come from? Is it your spirit reaching out to you to tell you to lighten up? Is it God or the Divine wrapping warmth and love around you?

There have been studies done that show laughter is valuable to our health and mental status. Laughing to me, however, is much more than a yoga exercise, health benefit or something we just do occasionally. Laughter is a special place where pure light shines through. It is where joy overtakes all that is dark and where laughter flows out of you like an erupting volcano. Laughter is music to the ears and demands attention from those that hear it. Laughter can be a tipping point where it makes someone else laugh just because he/she heard you laugh. In fact, when practicing Laughter Yoga participants may start out having to create laughter, but soon they experience true heartfelt, soul-deep laughter. Laughter is contagious and spontaneous. Though we cannot touch laughter it can touch us deeply. Don't hold back your laughter – share it with the world.

Negativity Builds Up - Release It

It is important that you don’t let your stresses and difficulties build up in your body. Shoving your feelings down – repressing them – only adds more stress to your body. Worrying and fretting over things brings negative energy into your body. Your cells absorb all of this negativity and the next thing you know you will be ill. Blockages are created and energy can no longer flow smoothly through your body. One common area in the body where you may notice this is your shoulders. Are they tense? Do you feel tension in them? Another common occurrence is that you get a cold.

When you feel stress or tension close your eyes, breathe deeply and focus on warmth around your heart. Focus on a beautiful white light shining inside of you. It may work better for you to focus that light and positive healing energy on the particular area that you feel stress such as your shoulders. Try this different ways and see what works best for you. If you have never done this before, it may take you a few attempts to feel as though you are accomplishing it. Remember there is not right or wrong way – just whatever helps you release some of your tension and at least sense your inner peace.

Take the Time

Take time out to spend with your children, your siblings, your parents, your pet, your partner.  When you spend time with these people how much of your attention is actually focused on them?  Are you sidetracked by thoughts of work, the television in the background, dinner cooking on the stove?  It truly is important to spend time with the special people in your life, but make sure that you are paying attention to them when you are with them.  Really listen to what they have to say.  Look them in the eyes.  When you are distracted you may only respond to their stories with, “Uh, huh.  Yep.  That’s nice, dear.”  That is not good for them or for you.  Having a strong bond with the special people in your life adds light and joy to your life and their lives.  Though few realize it this is a good way to connect to your spirituality – a Divine love.
